I admired Chicabi dolls for a long time, back when they were called Chica Bonita. After returning to the hobby from my break, and seeing some makers I thought were evergreen have shuttered their studios, I decided not to wait anylonger and adopt a Chicabi doll of my own.
Winnie Baby was one of their new girls at the time. Usually I like a doll with some smile but something about her pout looks not sad at all to me. Her cute gaze hypnotized me right away. And I guess that she wanted to come home right away, because she shipped out to me from Chicabi after only 2 weeks!
The Mini 41 body is very nice. She's strung slightly loose for my taste, but because her body has locking systems, she can hold poses without tight stringing or kips. The hands are soooo cute and chubby. Her feet are also chubby, which can be a problem with shoes. She can fit shoes made for Volks MSD, but the mature 1/4 size which is popular now has smaller feet than that, so it's important to check the measurements when shopping shoes for this body.
I've gotten a lot of compliments on her Chicabi Medium C-curl wig (here's another version that's cut slightly differently) and how naturally that it lays. Just so you know, this is a result of plunking a dolly beanie on her for a couple weeks and not some special styling skill I have. The Chicabi wig is just that good.
